The Snowy Mountains are located in New South Wales and have the 5 highest peaks in Australia. The Snowy Mountains form the Australian Alps which cross the ACT, New South Wales and Victoria and contain all the peaks on mainland Australia over 2000m. The Australian Alps form part of the Great Dividing Range, which stretches 3000km across 4 states and territories.

The Snowy Mountains have a temperature range of -6 degrees in July (Winter) to 21 degrees in January (Summer).
